Solway woman faces charges after rollover crash

A Solway woman is facing charges after a one-vehicle rollover crash with her infant inside it in Hubbard County last month.

Sheriff Cory Aukes said in a Tuesday release that the crash was on Oct. 12 in Rockwood Township.

A passerby removed the uninjured one-year-old child from inside the vehicle, but the Chevy Tahoe pinned 29-year-old Patience Thoms underneath it.

The investigation indicated that Thoms was northbound on Sunrise Drive when she turned to give her child a bottle in the backseat, driving the vehicle off the side of the road and into the ditch.

Thoms was airlifted to a Fargo Hospital by North Memorial and has multiple charges pending against her.

The release did not indicate whether or not controlled substances or alcohol were factors.
