State health officials are recommending all students, teachers and staff wear masks while indoors at school this fall.

The CDC guidelines say all people 12 and older should get vaccinated for COVID-19, masks should be worn inside school buildings regardless of vaccination status, and those who are not fully vaccinated should get regular COVID tests.

The recommendations come as COVID-19 cases driven by the Delta variant are increasing case rates across the country, particularly in areas with lower vaccination rates.

Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, and Hubbard counties’ COVID positivity rates indicate moderate transmission.

These counties also have between one-third to one-half of the eligible population vaccinated against COVID-19.
