Suspect apprehended after pursuit in Grand Rapids

Authorities in northern Minnesota have apprehended a suspect in a controlled substance investigation in Grand Rapids.

According to a release from the Aitkin-Itasca-Mille Lacs Violent Crimes Enforcement Team, just prior to the execution of the warrant yesterday, the known suspect, a 40-year-old Grand Rapids man, was seen leaving the residence on a motorcycle.

After a failed traffic stop, the male led officers on a short chase through southern Grand Rapids.

He was taken into custody for fleeing in a motor vehicle as well as numerous arrest warrants for other offenses.

The search warrant brought additional suspects taken into custody on various felony drug crimes. The investigation is still ongoing.
