A 10-year-old boy was killed in a fall from a tree in rural Walker last week.
Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reports that his office received reports last Thursday afternoon about a medical situation on Midway Circle in Cass County’s Turtle Lake Township.
First responders learned that the 10-year-old boy had fallen from a tree and was injured.
Medical aid was immediately initiated, with the victim transported by ambulance to a nearby landing zone to intercept a medical helicopter where further lifesaving measures were performed, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Assisting at the scene were Leech Lake Tribal Police, North Memorial Ambulance and Sanford Air Med.
The investigation continues with the assistance of the BCA and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
