Three pipeline protesters were arrested Thursday in Wadena County for trespassing.
According to a release from the Northern Lights Task Force, law enforcement responded to a report of 30 people demonstrating with some climbing on equipment and pipes at an Enbridge work site.
Most of the demonstrators got off the equipment upon law enforcement arrival, but three remained inside the pipe, and stayed for about six hours.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Menahga Police Department, the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office and Tri-County Ambulance, who medically cleared the suspects before their transport to jail.
The Northern Lights Task Force is the mutual aid network across northern Minnesota law enforcement agencies formed to respond to potential protests along the Line 3 route.
