A Turtle River man has announced his intentions to run against Republican Matt Grossell in the Minnesota House 2A race.
According to a release, Jeremiah Liend made the announcement at one of the Beltrami DFL precinct caucus sites Tuesday, and outlined a platform that focuses on sustainable development, campaign reform and criminal justice reform.
Liend has run for office three times in the past, in 2004 and 2008 for Mayor of Bemidji, and in 2016 as a registered write-in candidate for Governor.
His decision was based on the recent withdrawal of Michael Northbird from seeking the seat. In a statement, Liend says “those interested in researching the candidates are encouraged to Google them.”
Liend has yet to secure the DFL endorsement.
