Two arrested after Cass Lake bust

Two were arrested after the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department executed a search warrant in Cass Lake.

According to a release, the bust was last Thursday on 68th Avenue. Officers located suspected heroin and fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and a handgun.

One was arrested on a warrant, 34-year-old Shawntas Turnage, also known as Jon Jon, who was wanted for a first degree drug offense in Anoka County.

The other man, 31-year-old Eric Fairbanks of Cass Lake, was arrested on suspicion of 3rd degree possession of a controlled substance.

The Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the bust.
