Two injured in alcohol-suspected head-on crash

Two were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 371 early Saturday morning.

The state patrol says a Toyota Tacoma was southbound on Highway 371 around 1:20 a.m in Wilkinson Township.

A northbound Hyundai Sonata was in the southbound lane and the two vehicles collided head-on.

Twenty-eight-year-old Kaeli Rojas of Cass Lake was the Hyundai driver and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at North Memorial.

The 48-year-old driver of the Tacoma, Colleen Wells of Cass Lake, was also transported to North Memorial for non-life-threatening injuries.

Rojas was believed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, which is the suspected cause of the crash.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Leech Lake Tribal Police Department, North Memorial and Leech Lake Ambulance assisted at the scene.
