Two injured in ATV crash near Pequot Lakes

A man and a woman were injured, the man seriously, after an ATV crash in rural Pequot Lakes Saturday evening.

The ATV, driven by a 58-year-old Pequot Lakes woman, was on the driveway when she made a sharp turn, forcing the machine to roll, ejecting her and her passenger.

The machine then pinned the riders. A neighbor heard the crash and was able to move the machine off of them and began to render medical aid.

The driver was treated on scene then transported to a Brainerd hospital, according to Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch.

The passenger, a 59-year-old Pequot Lakes man, had to be transported to a St. Cloud hospital by North Memorial Air Care for treatment of serious injuries.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in this crash, which remains under investigation.
