Two injured in crash near Nevis

An 18-year-old Champlin man was cited for failing to yield and causing a crash near Nevis last week.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office says 18-year-old Brodey Welter was westbound on County Road 82 in a 2022 BMW.

He stopped at the stop sign and then pulled in front of a 27-year-old Duluth man in a 2021 Nissan.

The Nissan was south on Highway 34. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

Parker Shearer, the Nissan driver, was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to St. Joseph’s for treatment of facial injuries.

Shearer’s 29-year-old passenger was also taken there for injuries sustained in the crash.

Welter was apparently not injured in the crash on July 25.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
