Two injured in northern Cass County crash

Two were injured in a two-vehicle crash yesterday afternoon in northern Cass County.

According to a release, a Chevy Equinox, driven by 32-year-old Nicholas Parker of Minnetonka, was eastbound on Highway 2 when a Chevy Tracker, driven by 58-year-old Janice Garbow of Deer River, lost control and spun out, head on into the Equinox.

Parker wasn’t reported to be injured, but received treatment at a Bemidji Hospital.

Garbow was treated for her injuries at St. Mary’s in Duluth after air transport by North Memorial. Her passenger, 38-year-old Jean Wakonabo of Deer River, was treated for her injuries at Deer River.

The report says it is still unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash, and the Chevy Tracker occupants weren’t reported to have been wearing seat belts. Roads were snowy and icy at the time of the crash.
