Two injured in Shevlin-area crash

Two Bemidji residents were injured in a crash near Shevlin Friday.

The state patrol says 69-year-old Stanton Nelson was westbound on Highway 2 in a Mercury Milan when he struck a Toyota Tundra that was attempting to turn north onto County Road 23 from eastbound Highway 2.

The Tundra driver, 18-year-old Rodney Lafontaine of Shevlin, was not injured, neither was his 15-year-old passenger.

Nelson and his 70-year-old passenger were transported to the Sanford Bagley hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The Shevlin Fire Department, Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, and Bagley and Bemidji Ambulances assisted at the scene.
