Two killed in head-on crash with semi near Wadena

Two were killed in a head-on crash with a semi north of Wadena Tuesday.

The state patrol says 58-year-old Tina Dawson of Anoka and 57-year-old Todd Dawson of Park Rapids were northbound on Highway 71 when they veered over the centerline and struck the southbound semi head-on.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver, 63-year-old Kenneth Breland of Canton, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Tri-County Hospital.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Wadena’s Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department assisted at the scene, as did Tri-County Ambulance.
