By: News Director Larissa Donovan

PARK RAPIDS– Two were seriously injured in a crash north of Park Rapids Friday afternoon.

According to the state patrol, a northbound Chevy Silverado collided with a southbound Chevy Avalanche on Highway 71 at 190th Street.

The driver of the Silverado, 51-year-old Elvin Hartsock of Randall and the driver of the Avalanche, 36-year-old Jericha Vredenburg of Dayton, were treated for life-threatening injuries at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, and it is not known if seat belts were worn.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office and Park Rapids Police Department assisted at the scene.
