Union leader bashes Trump ahead of Bemidji visit

Minnesota AFL-CIO President Bill McCarthy made the following statement regarding today’s visits from President Trump in Bemidji and former Vice President Biden’s visit to Duluth:
“With both Presidential candidates visiting our state today, working Minnesotans will get an even clearer picture as to which of them will put workers first.
“While Donald Trump rants on stage at the Bemidji airport with his usual rhetoric intended to divide workers based on where we come from or what we look like, Joe Biden will be visiting the Carpenters Union training center in Duluth and listening to working Minnesotans’ hopes and concerns about our country’s future.
“Actions speak louder than words and when it comes to standing with working people, Joe Biden is the only Presidential candidate with a proven track record; Donald Trump is nothing but talk.”
The Minnesota AFL-CIO is the state labor federation made up of more than 1,000 affiliate unions, representing more than 300,000 working people throughout Minnesota.
According to two of the latest polls in Minnesota, Biden leads Trump by about nine points.
President Trump will be at Bemidji Aviation around 6 p.m. this evening.
