Utility crew unearths human bones in Pennington

A utility crew unearthed what is likely human bones in Pennington.

According to the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement agencies including the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department, as well as the Leech Lake Tribal Preservation Office and the Heritage Sites Program, responded to the scene just after noon on Aug. 24.

The investigation is ongoing and no other information is available.
