The United Way of Bemidji Area and United Way of Northeastern Minnesota are partnering to help our neighbors in Koochiching County with ongoing flood responses along Rainy Lake and the Rainy River Basin.
This is a historic flood that has already exceeded flood records set in 2014 and 1950 and has broken all-time records for lake levels in the region.
Community members can sign up to volunteer Wednesdays and Thursdays for the next two weeks, with volunteers carpooling at 8 a.m. and returning at 5 p.m.
Volunteers will fill sandbags for homes in need.
