Waubun man arrested after ATV crash and failed sobriety test

A Waubun man was arrested after an ATV crash in Hubbard County this month. Sheriff Cory Aukes says 32-year-old Jason Sindt left a wedding dance to give someone a ride on his ATV.

The investigation showed that Sindt was traveling on Buckhorn Circle in Straight River Township around 2 in the morning on July 10 at a high rate of speed, eventually losing control and rolling the machine into the ditch.

A passerby helped tip the machine upright and Sindt drove back to the wedding party.

Sindt was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids for treatment of his injuries.

Deputies then had Sindt perform field sobriety tests, which he failed. Sindt refused to provide a breath test, and a warrant was obtained for a blood sample. Sindt was taken into custody for fourth-degree DUI.
