The City of Bemidji will accelerate its annexation of a portion of Northern Township north of Anne Street.
Since the orderly annexation agreement was put in place many years ago, there will not be a public hearing, but the approximate 535 people that will now be city residents will get a welcome letter with important city phone numbers.
The area is about 2.8 square miles, which will be divided into Ward 2 and Ward 3.
Since this year is a census year and with redistricting for congressional districts possible, ward dividers may also change in the future.
