Walker man airlifted to Fargo after crash

A Walker man was airlifted to the Fargo hospital after a crash in Shingobee Township Friday morning.

According to the state patrol, 61-year-old Gary Tufts was southbound on Highway 371 in a 1997 Chevy pickup truck when he attempted to turn left on 62nd Street.

His truck collided with another pickup truck that was northbound on 371, which was driven by 37-year-old Keith Peterson of Hackensack.

Roads were snowy and icy at the time, and after transport to the Bemidji Hospital, Tufts was airlifted to Fargo, though the state patrol says his injuries were non-life threatening.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Walker Fire Department and North Memorial EMS assisted at the scene.
