Park Rapids man seriously injured in motorcycle crash

PARK RAPIDS– A 43-year-old Park Rapids man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash yesterday evening.

According to the state patrol, the bike was eastbound on Highway 87 near mile post 54 when the driver, Broderick Aaron Whitcomb, failed to negotiate a turn and went off the roadway around 6 p.m.

Whitcomb reportedly sustained life threatening injuries and wasn’t wearing a helmet.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, North Memorial EMS and Air Care and the Park Rapids Police Department assisted the state patrol.

Whitcomb was transported to Essentia Health in Fargo.
