Minnesota’s absentee voting period began Friday, and it’s the first time the state has been in a binding primary since 1956. Secretary of State Steve Simon’s Press Secretary, Risikat Adesaogun, says it’ll be different experience for voters this year.
In previous caucuses, the political parties would get information on who participated, and in this primary, the parties would receive a list of who voted for a candidate in their party.
Simon, according to Adesaogun, is looking into a way to enact guardrails in that process within the state legislature before the votes are counted after Super Tuesday in March.
