Two Bemidji residents charged with drug possession in Hubbard County

Two Bemidji residents were charged with first degree drug possession in Hubbard County.

According to the criminal complaints, the Hubbard and Beltrami County deputies stopped 21-year-old Alexandra Butcher and 25-year-old Luiz Delarosa in late December on Highway 200, and a juvenile in the vehicle was found with over one and a half pounds of methamphetamine in his pocket.

The complaint states the deputies knew Delarosa to be involved with gangs, and also says that it’s not unusual for gang members to have a juvenile take the blame for a criminal charge because consequences are less severe for juveniles.

Butcher will make her next court appearance in March, and Delarosa will next appear in court Feb. 10.

Delarosa’s bail was set at $100,000 without conditions, and unconditional bail for Butcher was set at $50,000.
