BEMIDJI– The Bemidji City Council met with VenuWorks executives in a special work session yesterday.
The council and VenuWorks discussed what sort of qualities are ideal in a new executive director of the Sanford Center, due to Jeff Kossow’s upcoming resignation.
A new executive director is expected to be announced later this month before the next Sanford Center board meeting.
The council expressed that stability and retention as being high on their list of priorities in filling the position, even though the average time for a director or manager at a specific venue is typically five years.
Executive Vice President of VenuWorks Joe Romano said that VenuWorks is there to provide support during the interim and moving forward.
Kossow has been with the Sanford Center for three years, and is moving to Washington state with his growing family.
