Sanford POWER athletic program starts Monday

Sanford POWER will host its annual summer strength and condition program starting this Monday and ending August 6, with enhanced guidelines.

According to a release, the summer program will be held outdoors at Bemidji High School’s track and football field, and no more than nine students per hour long session will be allowed per training coach, with participants’ temperatures checked daily.

“Safety has always been our number one priority at Sanford POWER whether it’s ensuring our local high school athletes are trained and conditioned to avoid sports injuries or taking precautions due to COVID-19,” said Aryn Deshane, Sanford POWER coordinator for Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota.

“It’s important that we are able to help our local athletes safely prepare to compete in their upcoming high school sports seasons.”

High school athletes (entering grades 9-12, Fall of 2020) in Bemidji will have the opportunity to participate in the strength and conditioning program. The Sanford POWER program offers ground-based training techniques to improve overall athletic enhancement.
