Today, the Minnesota Department of Health reports 352 newly reported cases of COVID-19 and 19 newly reported deaths, bringing the state’s cumulative total to 28,869 cases and 1,236 deaths.

Of those deaths, 984 were residents of long-term care or congregate living facilities. Of those positive cases, 3,034 were health care workers.

To date, there have been 369,795 tests completed since the first reported COVID case in Minnesota, and as of today, 24,675 patients no longer need to be isolated.

By subtracting the patients no longer in isolation and the deaths from the cumulative total, that leaves 2,958 active cases of COVID-19 in Minnesota.

Today, there are 234 Minnesotans being treated within a hospital for COVID-19 and of those, 193 are in ICU. This is the fourth straight day there have been fewer than 200 COVID-19 patients in the ICU, and there are six fewer in ICU today than there were yesterday.

Locally, MDH reported no new cases of COVID-19, but there was one newly reported death in Itasca County, a resident in their 80s.

Cumulatively, MDH reports there has been 21 cases of COVID-19 in Beltrami County, 11 and two deaths in Cass County, three cases in Clearwater County, five cases in Hubbard County, 58 cases and 12 deaths in Itasca County, nine cases in Koochiching County, six cases and one death in Mahnomen County, and five cases in Roseau County.
