The Bemidji City Council is scheduled to meet tonight.
On the consent agenda, the Bemidji Charter Commission has recommended a change from a two-year term to a four-year term for the mayoral seat.
If approved by the council, the option would go to referendum to city of Bemidji voters.
Consent agenda items are typically approved in one motion, unless a council member requests an item be removed from consent for further discussion.
The regular agenda only contains a few items of new business for the council to consider: a resolution authorizing tax forfeited land to return to the state, and a tax-increment financing district application request for a new housing development project.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m., and virtual meeting access instructions are available on the city’s website, and also available in the city council packet below.
