Teenagers injured in alcohol-related crash near Park Rapids

Two teenagers were injured in an alcohol related crash near Park Rapids yesterday.

According to the state patrol, 19-year-old Christopher Jewell of Minneapolis was driving a Dodge Caravan just after midnight when he left the roadway on Highway 71, coming to rest in the ditch.

The specific crash location was at County Road 41, north of Park Rapids in Arago Township.

Jewell, according to the report, was treated for non-life threatening injuries at St. Joseph’s.

His passenger, 16-year-old Suzanne Lundreth of Bemidji, was transported to the Fargo Sanford Hospital for what the report describes as non-life threatening injuries.

Jewell is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office,  Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
