Situation Update for Monday, July 27

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 650 newly-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two newly reported deaths, bringing the state’s cumulative total to 51,803 cases and 1,576 deaths.

Of those deaths, 1,207 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 5,988 were health care workers.

Approximately 970,726 tests have been completed since March, with over 13,500 completed on July 26.

To date, 45,198 COVID patients no longer need isolation. ICU hospitalizations have increased to 126 today, with 131 others hospitalized in non-ICU settings.

In north-central Minnesota, MDH reported six new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County, bringing the total to 157. Over the weekend, 29 new cases were reported by MDH in Beltrami.

MDH also reported one new case in Clearwater County; bringing the total to 15, one new case in Hubbard County, bringing the total to 20; one new case in Itasca County, bringing their cumulative total to 120 with 12 deaths; and one new case in Koochiching County bringing their total to 58 with three deaths.

Cass County has had 43 COVID cases with two deaths, Lake of the Woods County has had one case, Mahnomen County has had 18 cases with one death, and Roseau County has had 41 cases.

Congregate care facilities identified as COVID exposed by MDH include:

  • GoldPine Home in Beltrami County
  • Sanford Health WoodsEdge Senior Living Neilson Place in Beltrami County
  • Woods Edge Senior Living in Beltrami County

A facility is identified as “exposed” if a resident, staff member or visitor tested positive and was at the facility during the time they were contagious. After 28 days, if no new positive tests are confirmed, the facility will be removed from the list.
