SItuation Update for Sunday, Oct. 4

On Sunday, Oct. 4, the Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,048 new cases of COVID-19 and seven new COVID deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 103,826 and a death toll of 2,080.

Of those deaths, 1,486 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 10,815 were health care workers.

Over 2.146 million COVID tests have been completed, with about 29,000 completed on Saturday, Oct. 3.

To date, 93,148 COVID patients no longer need to be isolated.

MDH recorded 22 new COVID cases in Beltrami County Sunday, bringing the cumulative total to 550 with five deaths.

According to an announcement from Beltrami County Emergency Management, Public Health recorded 86 new cases in the week ending Oct. 2, with 106 COVID patients under isolation. As of Friday, 338 COVID patients were out of isolation. Five Beltrami County COVID cases were hospitalized.

During the MDH no-barrier testing event held in Bemidji, 1,283 COVID tests were completed over the three-day event. Results and data are expected to be completed in the coming days.

MDH also recorded four new COVID cases in Cass County, for a total of 213 with four deaths; two new cases in Clearwater County, total of 37 cases; nine new cases in Hubbard County, total of 162 with one death; 22 new cases in Itasca County, total of 431 with 16 deaths; four new cases in Koochiching County, total of 130 cases and four deaths; and six new cases in Mahnomen County, for a total of 55 and one death.
