New COVID Business Relief Grant from Northern Township

Northern Township announces a new grant program for small businesses called the Northern Township COVID Business Relief Fund.  The funding is part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) funding allocated to Northern Township through directive of Governor Walz, who released $841 million of Federal CARES Act dollars to townships, cities, and counties throughout Minnesota through Executive Order.  Greater Bemidji, Inc. will be administering the grants on behalf of the township.

Small businesses may apply for grants from $1,000 to $10,000 if they have experienced financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Applications will be ranked based on several factors such as revenue comparison from 2019 and 2020 YTD, other support received, number of full time employees and business shut down due to the Governor’s Executive Order.

Eligible businesses are for-profit businesses located in Northern Township and registered with the Minnesota Secretary of State or be a licensed daycare provider.

Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, November 4th, 2020 with award notifications and funding coming quickly thereafter.

Application and grant information may be found at Greater Bemidji, Inc.’s website at www.greaterbemidji.com or stop in at 102 1st Street West, Suite 101, Bemidji, MN 56601 (Mayflower Building).
