Mu Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional Women Educator’s Organization in Bemidji, donated over $350 to the United Way of Bemidji Area’s Backpack Buddies program.
According to a release, Backpack Buddies was developed to ensure that children within Bemidji’s school district have access to nutritious, non-perishable and easy-to-prepare food during the weekends and school vacations.
Since the COVID-19 crisis, the program went from serving 450 children to over 1,200 each week.
