Situation Update for Monday, Nov. 9

The Minnesota Department of Health says 3,762 new confirmed cases and 168 new probable cases were reported today, bringing the state’s case counts to 183,284 confirmed and 1,504 probable cases.

Nineteen new COVID deaths were reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,675. Fourteen of the deaths reported today were in long-term care or an assisted living facility.

Of those deaths, 1,850 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of those cases, 16,212 were health care workers.

Over 3.103 million PCR tests and almost 44,000 antigen tests have been completed so far, with about 25,000 PCR test and almost 800 antigen tests completed yesterday.

To date, 149,766 of the state’s COVID patients have been released from isolation.

Locally, Beltrami County saw nearly 100 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, with Public Health currently monitoring 233 active cases as of this morning. According to Public Health’s Megan Heuer, 86 new cases were identified Friday alone. Visitor restrictions were recently put in place at the Sanford Bemidji and Sanford Bagley campuses, due to the sustained increase of COVID in the area.

Today, 13 new cases were reported to MDH for Beltrami County, bringing the case totals to 1,259 confirmed cases, one probable case and 13 deaths.

Two new COVID deaths in the region were reported to MDH today, Hubbard County’s 10th death, a resident in their late 70s, and Itasca County’s 18th, a resident in their late 70s.

Thirteen new cases were reported in Cass County, for a total of 691 confirmed, one probable case and seven deaths; five new cases reported in Clearwater County, for a total of 214 cases and two deaths; four new cases were reported in Hubbard County, for a total of 636 confirmed and one probable case.

Itasca County saw an increase in 28 cases, for a total of 1,086 confirmed cases; one confirmed and one probable new case in Lake of the Woods County, for a total of 60 confirmed, five probable and one death; one new case in Mahnomen County, for a total of 156 confirmed cases and three deaths; and eight new confirmed and 17 new probable cases in Roseau County, for a total of 492 confirmed, 85 probable and one death.
