Today is the second day of the United Way of Bemidji Area’s “Week of Caring.”
Today, the theme is around food security and hunger.
The week of caring is to encourage community members to learn more about the issues people in our community face, and those agencies and nonprofits that work to address those issues.
Activities recommended for adults and workplaces include a discussion on hunger and its effects, for families, building a nutritious plate, as hunger and nutrition go hand-in-hand, and for action, plan a food and hygiene drive.
Community members are encouraged to donate food or money to the Bemidji Community Food Shelf, and personal hygiene supplies can also be donated there.
More information on the week of caring can be found at the United Way’s website.
