Situation Update for Tuesday, Dec. 1

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 3,570 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the state’s case total to 322,312 cases.

Twenty-two new COVID deaths were also reported, bringing the state’s death toll to 3,615.

Of all deaths, 2,430 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 23,330 were health care workers.

Over 4.284 million tests have been completed in total, with over 2.539 million people tested. Yesterday, about 23,000 tests were completed.

To date, 279,540 COVID-19 patients no longer need to be isolated.

MDH reported 40 new confirmed and three new probable COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, bringing the case totals to 2,194 confirmed, 41 probable cases and 18 deaths.

Beltrami Public Health’s Megan Heuer reported the county was monitoring 249 active cases of COVID-19 as of yesterday afternoon, and there have been 21 COVID in Beltrami County.

Sanford Bemidji spokeswoman Lindsey Wangberg reported as of yesterday morning, 25 patients were hospitalized for COVID.

Two new deaths were reported in Hubbard County today, one resident in their late 70s and another in their late 80s. Hubbard County, according to MDH, has had 27 deaths due to COVID-19.

Twenty-one new confirmed and one new probable case were reported in Cass County today, for a total of 1,468 confirmed cases, 12 probable cases and 10 deaths; seven new cases in Clearwater County, for a total of 527 confirmed, seven probable cases and eight deaths; and 14 new cases in Hubbard County, for a total of 1,160 confirmed and 11 probable cases.
