Assistant News Director Kev Jackson visited with Sanford Bemidji’s Vice President of clinics and pediatrician Dr. Colleen Swank.
Dr. Swank says there are 10 COVID-19 vaccines in the works, and two of them, one by Pfizer and another by Moderna, are expected to approved this month. Pfizer’s was approved today.
Dr. Swank warns the community to be wary of the vast amounts of misinformation about the vaccine that could be circulating on social media.
The first allotment of dosages will be for frontline health care workers and nursing home residents as soon as Dec. 21.
