Situation Update for Tuesday, Jan. 12

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,335 new COVID-19 infections and 13 new deaths, bringing the state’s case count to 438,867 and the death toll to 5,724.

Of all deaths, 3,660 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 34,132 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after around 29,000 COVID tests were completed yesterday. Over 5.982 million tests have been completed since March.

Over 418,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting 10 new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, one new case each in Cass, Clearwater and Hubbard Counties.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,026 cases and 46 deaths, Cass County has had 2,012 cases and 22 deaths, Clearwater County has had 679 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,453 cases and 37 deaths.
