Situation Update for Friday, Jan. 29

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,145 new COVID-19 infections today and 28 new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 459,747 and the death toll to 6,168.

Of all deaths, 3,911 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 36,151 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after nearly 45,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.244 Minnesotans have been tested so far, with 6.513 million tests completed.

Over 443,000 of the state’s COVID-19 cases no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting three new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, three new cases in Cass County, two new cases in Clearwater County and nine new cases in Hubbard County

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,190 COVID-19 cases and 48 deaths, Cass County has had 2,118 cases and 24 deaths, Clearwater County has had 690 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,534 cases and 38 deaths.
