Jourdain wins at-large seat

Dan Jourdain appears to be the victor of the Bemidji City Council at-large race.

According to unofficial results for the special election to fill the vacancy, Jourdain won 524 votes in total compared to Dave Larson’s 410.

Jourdain beat Larson by 26 votes in the special election and by 88 votes from absentee ballots.

Votes will be canvassed this Friday, with Jourdain anticipated to be sworn in and seated during the next council meeting on Feb. 16.

Mayor Jorge Prince will also deliver a state of the city address during that meeting.
