Situation Update for Monday, Feb. 22

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 561 new COVID-19 cases today and one new death, bringing the state’s case total to 479,591 and the death toll to 6,433.

Of all deaths, 4,038 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. Of all cases, 37,481 were health care workers.

Today’s data comes after around 17,000 tests were completed Sunday. Over 7.178 million tests have been completed with over 3.422 million people tested.

Over 466,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting three new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today, three new cases in Cass County, four new cases in Clearwater County, and one new case in Hubbard County.

Beltrami County Emergency Management reported Friday that there were 54 active cases of COVID-19 with two Beltrami residents hospitalized for COVID.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,340 cases and 49 deaths, Cass County has had 2,172 cases ad 24 deaths, Clearwater County has had 713 new cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,596 cases and 40 deaths.
