Situation Update for Wednesday, March 24

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 1,323 new COVID-19 cases today and nine new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 508,541 cases and the death toll to 6,798.

Of today’s deaths, six were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities, bringing the total number of deaths in these types of facilities to 4,254.

Today’s data comes after nearly 26,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.6 million people have been tested for COVID-19 with over 8 million tests completed.

Over 491,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH reported eight new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, four new cases in Cass County and one new case in Clearwater County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,485 cases and 54 deaths, Cass County has had 2,281 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 732 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,623 cases and 41 deaths.
