Situation Update for Thursday, March 25

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,857 new COVID-19 cases and 16 new deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 510,398 and the death toll to 6,814.

Ten of today’s deaths were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities, bringing the total number of deaths in these types of facilities to 4,264.

Today’s data comes after nearly 41,000 tests were completed yesterday. Over 3.6 million people have been tested for COVID-19, with over 8 million tests completed.

Over 492,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting seven new COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County today and one new case in Hubbard County.

For the two week period ending March 13, Beltrami County’s new COVID-19 cases per 10,000 dropped less than one point, from 11.28 to 10.63.

Cass County also dropped nearly one point, to 15.85, Clearwater County’s rate stayed the same at 10.21, and Hubbard County’s rate dropped less than one point to 4.31.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,492 cases and 54 deaths, Cass County has had 2,283 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 732 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,625 cases and 41 deaths.
