Bemidji School Board will hold special meeting this week

The Bemidji Area School Board will hold a special meeting this Thursday.

According to the agenda, the board will discuss classroom adjustment projections and elementary boundaries, likely related to the anticipated closure of Central Elementary School.

The board is also scheduled to discuss the payment of fees and other charges policy.

The district is looking to cut around $5.6 million from their budget, with the closure of Central Elementary just one of the ways to slim down spending.

The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. and will be live streamed on the district’s YouTube channel.
