Cass Lake man injured in motorcycle crash

A Cass Lake man was injured after he struck a deer with his motorcycle on Highway 2 Sunday evening.

The state patrol says 42-year-old Joseph Schmid was westbound just east of Swan River in Itasca County when he struck the deer. The motorcycle came to a rest in the west bound side ditch.

Schmid was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Grand Itasca.

Schmid was riding a Harley Cruiser and roads were dry at the time.

The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office, Warba Fire, Meds1 and Lifelink assisted at the scene.
