Situation Update for Friday, April 9

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 2,659 new COVID-19 cases today and ten new COVID deaths, bringing the state’s case total to 537,828 and the death toll to 6,932.

Of today’s reported deaths, six were among residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities. There have been 4,310 COVID deaths in these types of facilities.

Today’s data comes after almost 57,000 tests were completed yesterday. Almost 3.8 million people have been tested for COVID-19, with 8.5 million tests completed.

More than 512,000 of the state’s COVID patients no longer need isolation.

MDH is reporting six new COVID cases in Beltrami County today, 20 new cases in Cass County, and four new cases in Hubbard County.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 3,642 cases and 57 deaths, Cass County has had 2,403 cases and 26 deaths, Clearwater County has had 750 cases and 14 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 1,668 cases and 41 deaths.
