AUDIO: Rep. Bliss discusses contentious moments of special session

House 5A Representative Matt Bliss (R-Pennington) says some movement on budget bills have happened after a few days of filibusters from House Republicans, but much work remains to be done.

During the debate on the Energy and Commerce budget items, the bill was passed despite House Republican objections over the exclusion of reinsurance.

Bliss says Minnesota led the nation on the issue of reinsurance for health care policies on the private marketplace, which he says were skyrocketing before the reinsurance waiver.

Sparks flew on the House Floor over an apparent point of order during the debate of the Energy and Commerce budget last night.

Bliss says another ruling around clean cars was approved. The measure is set to have a moratorium in 2024, and Bliss says it will likely become a campaign issue in 2022.
