Structure lost in housefire

No injuries were reported but a home was lost in a fire last night in Bemidji Township.

According to a release from the Bemidji Fire Department, 32 firefighters responded to the scene on the 1200 block of Miles Ave. SE.

The structure was fully engulfed in flames, and crews battled the blaze for two and a half hours.

Firefighters went into a defensive, or exterior, attack due to the heavy involvement of fire inside the structure.

The fire is currently under investigation. No word yet on whether or not it appears accidental in nature.

Bemidji Fire was assisted by the Bemidji Police Department, Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Cass Lake Fire, State Fire Marshal, Bemidji Ambulance Service, Minnesota Energy and Beltrami Electric.
