Learn and explore the techniques of Sashiko Mending, one of the oldest known mending techniques with origins in Eastern Asia. Sashiko is practiced all over the world for its durability, beauty, and cultural value. This two-day class will include a Friday night session to learn the basic techniques and history of Sashiko followed the next day on Saturday when students will learn how to apply these skills to their own clothes or fiber goods. Keila McCracken of Bare Cloth will be the instructor.
Class dates: Friday October 15th from 5pm – 8pm and Saturday October 16th from 10am to 1pm. Members $65 / Non-members $75. Materials fee is an additional $10.
