Lake Bronson man hits moose on Highway 2

A Lake Bronson man is recovering after hitting a moose near McIntosh.

The state patrol says 35-year-old Thomas Fitzgerald was eastbound in a 2002 Oldsmobile on Highway 2 when he struck the moose around 6:45 in the morning on Thursday.

Fitzgerald was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a Fosston hospital. Officials did not disclose if the moose was injured or killed.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office assisted on-scene, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
