A home was seriously damaged in a fire last night.
Bemidji Fire Chief Justin Sherwood says responders arrived at the 2400 block of Roosevelt Rd. SE around 10:40 p.m. for a single-story residential fire.
Thirty-one firefighters with 12 pieces of equipment were on the scene for about five hours.
Firefighters used a transitional attack, meaning they applied water to the exterior to improve conditions inside the building, with firefighters then able to enter the home to extinguish the remaining blaze.
No injuries were reported, but the home and its contents suffered extensive damage.
Bemidji Fire was assisted by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Bemidji Ambulance Service, Minnesota Energy Resources, Beltrami Electric and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The cause is still under investigation.
